-
Use a good quality synthetic brush or mini roller. It can be use in a paint sprayer with appropriate dilution. Wearing disposable gloves is recommended - our paint is sticky!
-
Paint quickly but carefully in the direction of the grain.
-
Whilst painting check for and remove paint drips and edge build-up, being careful not to re-work partially dry paint.
-
Allow Voodoo Molly Vintage Paint to dry at least 1 hour before applying additional coats.
Warm weather painting tips
In warm weather paint will dry much more quickly than normal. It will evaporate and thicken in the pot, and dry much quicker during application leaving a textured finish especially when using a brush. Evaporation can occur not only by heat, but also in air flow (wind). Tips to avoid evaporation:
- Paint in cooler weather or the coolest part of the day.
- Never paint in direct sunlight.
- Avoid painting in an air-flow.
- Thin the paint down with a little water. The key is to dilute the paint as required to maintain the same viscosity/flow at all times.
- Paint quickly to avoid over-working partially dry paint.
- Maintaining a "wet edge" is desirable. Working methodically in rows can help acheive this.
- Do not leave the lid off for too long during the painting process.
- When finished, replace the lid properly to get a good seal. Its helpful to use a rag to wipe around the rim and lid before closing it.
