How to use Stainblock Primer

Voodoo Molly Stainblock Primer  is a water based primer sealer. Its effective as a stain blocker on ink, nicotine and tannin bleed. Tannin bleed is common with redwood furniture such has mahogany, cedar and kauri, or in the knots of pine. 

Voodoo Molly Stainblock Primer  is a pale lilac colour.

  • Stain blocker

  • Tannin sealer

  • Bond coat

  • Water based

  • Low odour

  • Touch dry 30 mins

  • Recoat 1 hour

  • Cure 12 hours 

 

PREPARATION 

    1. Remove hardware such as handles and hinges.

    2. Remove loose paint, varnish and other particles. 

    3. Lightly sand surface with 100 - 120 grit sandpaper  for best adhesion. 

    4. Repair any damage. Fill scratches or dents with wood filler as per product directions.

    5. Clean with a detergent and water, ensuring all dirt, grease, polish, wax and dust is removed. If necessary use a wax remover or mineral spirits to remove stubborn polish buildup.

     

    APPLICATION: 

    1. Stir Voodoo Molly Stainblock Primer carefully with a flat paddled stick.

    2. Use a  paint brush  to apply very thin coats of Voodoo Molly Stainblock PrimerWork in the direction of the grain. 

    3. Apply 2-3 coats depending on severity of the stain. 

    4. Allow Voodoo Molly Stainblock Primer  to dry 1 hour between each coat. 

    5. Allow the last coat to cure overnight before painting.
