How to use Vintage Clearcoat

Voodoo Molly Vintage Clearcoat is a superior product that is extremely durable and has a soft semi-gloss finish. Additional coats increase gloss level. 

  • Water based

  • Low odour

  • Semi-gloss 

  • 30 min touch dry

  • 2 hour re-coat

  • 3 day full cure

  • Brush or spray application

  • For furniture, tabletops, floors

PREPARATION

  1. Bare wood - Remove hardware such as handles and hinges.

  2. Clean with a detergent and water, ensuring all dirt, grease, polish, wax and dust is removed. If necessary use a wax remover or mineral spirits to remove stubborn polish buildup.

  3. Lightly sand surface if necessary with fine grade sandpaper.

  1. Painted surface - If freshly painted with Voodoo Molly Vintage Paint     or allow the surface to dry overnight. For best results wait for full cure of 7 days.

  2. Gently sand with 180 grit sandpaper  if required to create a smooth surface.

  3. Remove any dust particles. 

APPLICATION: 

  1. Stir Voodoo Molly Vintage Clearcoat  carefully with a flat paddled stick - do not shake. 

  2. Apply quickly yet carefully with a good quality synthetic brush  in direction of the grain. Use long smooth strokes and work in rows keeping a wet edge at all times. Do not apply outside or where there is a breeze, to prevent dust and other particles ruining surface. 

  3. Whilst applying check for and remove drips and edge-buildup, being careful not to brush over partially dry clearcoat. 

  4. Allow to dry at least 2 hours between coats.

  5. Additional coats will increase gloss level.
