How to paint a chalkboard

Voodoo Molly Vintage Chalk Powder  makes beautiful blackboard paint.

Vintage Chalk Powder additive mixes easily with Voodoo Molly Vintage Paint  allowing you to make chalkboards in every colour of the Vintage Paint range.

The traditional colour, of course, is just plain black. To get this look, use Vintage Paint "Standard Black", or for a more aged chalkboard, use Vintage Paint "Charcoal".

Method

  1. Make Voodoo Molly Vintage Chalk Powder  as per the directions.

  2. Use a brush to apply 3 or 4 coats onto a prepared board.

  3. Allow each coat to dry at 1 hour before re-coat. Lightly sand between coats.

  4. When final coat is completely dry, do not sand. Instead prime the blackboard by rubbing a chalk stick over the entire surface.

  5. Dust off chalk with a soft cloth or duster.

  6. Use chalk sticks to write on your blackboard.
