How to Paint Terracotta Pots

How to Paint Terracotta Pots

Terracotta pots are inexpensive to buy and with a little Voodoo Molly Vintage Paint  you can transform them into expensive looking pots, bursting with character.

Method

  1. Carefully remove plant and dirt from pot, and place in another temporary container.

  2. Clean the pot well, removing all traces of dirt, grime and loose particles. Allow to dry.

  3. In a small disposable cup mix 1 part water with 1 part Voodoo Molly Vintage Paint . Stir well. Yes, it will be very liquidy (is liquidy a word?).

  4. Apply the diluted paint onto the pot using a paint brush or foam brush. It nice to paint the inside rim portion too, to just below the soil level.

  5. Allow the pot to dry.

  6. Use undiluted Voodoo Molly Vintage Paint  to paint the final coats.

Hints:

  • To create stripes, use a rubber bands to make the edges and to help you paint straight.
  • Use Voodoo Molly Vintage Clearcoat to make them shinier.
  • Stencils and transfers will help to create interest to your pots.
